Fifteen’s Birthday…Brazilian Carnival Style!

Miami Wedding Planner main business has always been “Weddings” but we are a full service event planning company in Miami capable to do any type of event that comes our way and Balie’s fifteen’s party serves as testimonial for this.  The location for this magnificent fun event was the famous Miami Karu and Y known today as Ice Palace. Balie is what I call “a true quinceanera”, she is full of innocence easy to appreciate on her sweet face. Lucky enough for her, she is also Daddy’s Little girl, in reality not just daddy’s since her uncles and aunts are also crazy about her and of course I have to mention her brother Sean who is just like her.  These two kids can easily still your heart just like the rest of the family who are humble, lovely and just unique.

Balie’s taste is also special, instead of the very traditional hispanic quinceanera party with the big dresses…etc, she opted for a much more fun Brazilian Carnival Theme Party.  From the flower arrangements, the caricaturist, the food, drinks, brazilian Batucada, Brazilian dancers and fire dancers to the masquerades given to all guests, everything had a carnival feeling to it.  The Batucada and dancer were from brazil so the real deal was at this party.  We also added a “bogo” with her name and age that was placed facing the cascade.

Balie’s got many gifts but one touch everyone’s heart….a Gold Rose given to her by her father.  He placed it inside a glass box to perfectly show the beauty of it and to protect it at the same time, he also put her initial with swarovski crystals to embellish it.

A lot of people work very hard for this event to be a success and it was. Of course most of the crew was there including, Sandra and Damarys from Marcelin Photography and her makeup was by Jenny from Rosy Cheeks.

Enjoy!

Wow! Ruby and Anthony…Miami Wedding going vintage

I have no idea how to start this post after almost a year, the best way is just mentioning that Ruby and Anthony are the coolest people you can meet and I will follow thanking all the vendors who made it possible like the beautiful crew from Rosy Cheeks, my friends from Lefragole, Latin Dj and of course Marcelin Photography…no one like you guys!  Ruby and Anthony’s wedding last year was invovating and defenitely ahead of the predictions of this year events. They had a 2011 wedding with a 2012 flavor.  Most of the credit for this super succesful and fun wedding I give to Anthony the groom who created all the props you are seeing in the pictures, he was all about improving our ideas.  The Miami Beach Botanical Garden was the ground for this unique wedding where two lemonade stands with cookies were set ready for guests to served themselves while the ceremony was getting started, all the lighting, cake drop and backdrop for the sign table were also made to match the theme of the wedding. Later they had a cocktail hour and dinner. The awesome background and props for the Hora loca where provided by once more…one of the best, Sandra from Marcelin Photography.  Guests used these props to leave the couple messages they can treasure for ever.  Everything in this wedding was just as unique and special to me like Ruby and Anthony are, from the groom and groomsman wearing converse and personalized bowtie to the bridesmaids carring a silk Chanel handmade purse with also hand made silk flowers matching their partner customized bowtie. The cake topper matching the lemonade stand, the flower girl in a carriage, the ring bearer pillow and the Hora Loca gave everyone a lot to talk about.

hope you enjoy the pics!Pearl Earings, Vintage Stayle

2012 Trend for your Miami Wedding

Miami is one of the favorite cities used by couples to get married and our couples love to keep updated with the trend of the year so, here are some predictions for what we will be seeing this year, even though I have to say that some Miami wedding couples have been setting the trend themselves!

Wedding colors:

There are lots of options here. Light pink, sunflower yellow, teal blue and brown are still “in”, but with the romantic feel of the Victorian time, the neutrals will make a comeback this season, mixed with colors such as beige and pale blue and pinks, perfect for Miami Beach Weddings.

Wedding Theme:

Not so used before but gaining momentum this year.  Wine lovers will have cork & bottle décor and even wine tastings at the reception; Ocean and beach lovers will have from sea shells décor to seafood dinner that can be even more beautiful using the blue waters of our Miami beaches. The “Hora Loca” well known in Peru has being the talk of the past year and together with the Photo booth and this year there is no change.

Gowns:

Romantic Victorian styles have been showing up everywhere.  The Long and full skirts with corsets and even the high necklines are appearing all over the bridal shows.  Victorian Styles brings the lace back and the old style booties.  Don’t be surprised if you see some 1980’s inspired weddings including the fashion with the bright oranges, yellows and a lot of grey colors.

Rosa Clara Rosa Clara Wedding Designs  2012

Flowers: Super romantic flower bouquets will match beautifully with classically inspired wedding dresses. Soft colors like ivory and light pink.  Big blooms and pearls wrapped around the handle of the bouquet will do the trick.

Food: Grooms cakes are a most have.  Brides are choosing sports-themed, special designs and a lot more elaborate wedding cakes. Dessert tables have been a trend since the past year and will still be a trend this year.  After all this is the perfect chance to show off mom’s pumpkin pie!

Red velvet and cream cheese are not going away but other flavors like dulce de leche and Guayaba are making their way up very quickly.  Also gaining a space are the gluten free cupcakes.

Now you have an idea but the best advise is Have your wedding the way and style you like! you won’t regret it.

Today is a Dog Day!

No bridesmaids but a beautiful Dog?  Why not to use him or her (I refuse to use it) in place of flower girl or ring bearer in your beautiful wedding?  For some of us, our dogs are extremely important and they are part of the family so we will love to have them participating in our big day.  I recommend doing this only if you have a well behaved, well train dog, someone to take care of the dog and most importantly, if the venue allows it. The pictures will be beautiful and for sure your event will be unique.

Some people refuse to do this due to the sufficient stress the day will hold by itself, other say that it is not fair for the dog to be in the middle of the craziness and then being taken away from you and also It will be sad when looking at pics in the future as he or she would have passed on to doggy heaven.

If you decided to use your dog for your wedding, we can help you dressing him or her with a Miami style.  Miami Wedding Planner has now a new line of high quality dog clothes that I am sure will make any dog happy.  We can customize all the designs or make you own style.

Here are some of the designs

Thanks to all Miami Wedding Brides and Grooms, you made this posible!

Miami Wedding Planner is recognized as part of the top five percent of wedding professionals in over 200,000 wedding professionals throughout the United States and Canada.

Been a wedding planner or event coordinator has giving me the chance to work with the most amazing couples ever.  I leave and enjoy every moment on a wedding but mostly the moment where the couple says I DO to each other after they promise to love each other every day of their lives.  I plan every wedding like if it was my first, putting all my effort and trying to make the process of the planing stressful and fun as possible.  I think this one of the reasons why Miami Wedding Planner has been giving the Bride’s Award 2012.

Miami Wedding Planner friends!

Long Time without writing…wow it feels good to be back.  I wrote some time ago about the engagement of
a couple who became very dear to me Yelayne and Nelson!  Their wedding started like a small project
but it grew little by little and even though it wasn’t a huge production, it
had very nice details that made it look expensive.

Yelayne and Nelson opted for the reviling time, a very well
known term in Miami for weddings…this is when the bride and groom met privately
before the event.  They met at the Ruins
of Coral Gables, a very romantic and unique place in Miami.  This couple didn’t want to miss anything from
their event so this was the perfect choice.

The event was at a banquet hall in the heart of Miami and
like mention on the engagement post, the colors where red and white…beautiful
combination. The bride had her first dance with her father and I think it was
the most emotional moment in the wedding. She also spend a great deal of time
with her son Kevin who behaved like a grown up.
This couple wrote their own vows making the moment to read them very
special and unique just like Nelson himself.

Like all of Miami wedding Planner’s clients, they became
friend and will continue to be in our family for ever.

Some of the vendors for this event were Rosy and Jenny from Rosycheeks,
Weddings by Ruby and of course the wonderful duo of Sandy and Damaris from Marcelin
Photography.
